We are back to normal? now that the children have left. We have been blessed with cooler weather this season with a lot of cloud cover. It is now nearing the dry season again and the heat is rising daily!
Phew! We have reached the half way mark in the contract and its downhill from here!
Porks, Buddy and I try and go for a walk one afternoon during the weekend if we can and sometimes find interesting things to observe and photograph. This large army of minute ants had made a path across the road with their tiny, light little feet! The sheer number has managed to make a path in the gravel road.
On the edge of the road they had started to build a safety tunnel.
We came across these tiny little foot pints. We think they are squirrel's or maybe grass cutter's.
And these................Buddy's!
He is not really a Ghanaian canine as he battles in the heat, as we do, and whenever he finds water, shade or some cooler sand, he wallows in it.
Jose sent us some passion fruit. I have never seen this kind before. Larger than our purple grenadillas. I add it to the yoghurt that I found in Kumasi, happy Shan, and its delicious!
These two little shrew-like mice were swimming in Buddy's drinking water bowl one morning.
The poor little things couldn't get out as the side had no grip and was too steep. I managed to save them and put them on the vegetation outside our yard before they drowned. I think the one at the bottom had either swallowed too much water or was pregnant!
Deon's farewell dinner before he went back to South Africa. Blink detected!
So we had a small surprise birthday dinner for Porks to have an early celebration.
Kelly and I, with the kind help of Willem, managed to get a birthday present to Ghana for Porks.
A 1.8 litre Stanley for his cold juice, water or cold tea for his hot work. This poor obruni works in the blazing sun all day and needs to have his liquids replenished.
Lastly, but mostly, my daring daughter and her fabulous Mann have announced their engagement! Romantic Roger flew her to the top of a waterfall on the Wild Coast and proposed! We are so thrilled.
I have no idea when I'll be posting again so I wish you all another safe, healthy, happy and loved-filled Christmas and festive season....and again thank you for your much appreciated support over this year!
Mwa! and huge Shannie hugs to you all!
